Salted Chocolate Caramel Brownies (and Other Party Food)

I know, I know, just last week I wrote all about my efforts at eating healthy and shared with you my breakfast Protein Pancakes and now . . .  I tempt you with this post about dreamy Salted Chocolate Caramel Brownies.  But really, once in a while, how can you possibly resist these?

I admit to having a big sweet tooth that craves chocolate, but eating clean during the week helps me feel less guilty about indulging every so often.  My Ghirardelli cookbook has a recipe for Chocolate Caramel Brownies that I made this weekend and shared with a few friends who came over on Saturday night.

Holy yumminess!  I had to take these pictures the next day because this was all that was left.  See the gooey caramel center?!  They seriously melt in your mouth.

Since it was a "game day" get together, I also made Pioneer Woman's mushroom and swiss sliders, following her directions pretty closely, omitting the heavy cream in the burgers.  You can read her recipe HERE.  They were really good and I used Hawaiian rolls for the buns.

We also munched on these Pepperoni and Cheese Croissants that I found on The Girl Who Ate Everything.  Holy cow they are tasty!  And really easy to make.

And of course we had a meat and cheese plate.   This one had brie, manchego, drunken goat, and creamy gorgonzola with salami, proscuitto, grapes, honey, nuts, olives, and crackers.  Always a hit for get togethers and so good with wine.

I have no idea what happened during the game, but I enjoyed the food, wine, and friends:)  I hope y'all had a great weekend too!  Back to the gym:)
